Peanut Butter Fudge

Eating fudge always brings nostalgic memories of vacation travels flooding in with each bite. It didn’t matter which town my family was visiting there always seemed to be a sweet shop when endless counters of all different flavors of fudge. Peanut Butter Fudge was always one of my favorite variations and once I found out how easy it is to prepare I make it every time during the holidays.

This rich and smooth peanut butter has a sweet taste and almost crumbles as you eat it. It makes the perfect treat and is great for sharing with friends, especially for gifts.

How to Make Peanut Butter Fudge

This simple fudge recipe can be made in under 20 minutes start to finish and even chills quickly in the fridge. With that said the process of making fudge needs to be quick for all the ingredients to set properly. Make sure to prep your ingredients before so you’re ready.

  1. Prepare: Grease an 8×8 baking dish or cover with parchment paper leaving a large over-hang.
  2. Heat: In a large pot melt the butter and peanut butter together over medium heat, stirring continuously. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.
  3. Mix: Stir in the salt and vanilla until combined and then mix in the powdered sugar until smooth.
  4. Set: Pour the fudge mixture into the prepared dish and cover with plastic wrap. Gently press the plastic wrap on top of the fudge and let chill in the refrigerator for 1 hour before slicing.

How to Store Peanut Butter Fudge

Store the fudge in an air-tight container in the fridge for up to 1 week. Allow the fudge to come to room temperature before serving. You can also freeze the fudge for up to 2 months. Let thaw in the fridge when ready to serve.

Pro Tips for Making Fudge

  • When slicing the fudge coat your knife in a cooking spray so it makes a clean slice through the fudge. Then before making the next slice carefully clean off the blade with a wet paper towel.
  • Make sure to chill the fudge for a minimum of 1 hour so it firms up.
  • To add some extra flavor stir in some marshmallows or chocolate chips before pouring into the prepared dish.
